14 mar The president of the Basque autonomous government, Patxi López, presents the Spanish-Basque automated translation tool
The Basque government is launching the first Spanish-Basque translation tool, which is available online and can be used to translate non-specialised texts and web pages. It has been developed by the company Lucy Software, whose technology Incyta distributes around the Iberian Peninsula. The version being presented is the result of over two years of work and the product of a project that has been taking shape since 2004.
The presentation took place at the Alhóndiga cultural centre in Bilbao on 28 February and was led by the president of the Basque autonomous government, Patxi López, with the participation of the Minister for Culture, Blanca Urgell; the Deputy Minister for Linguistic Policy, Lurdes Auzmendi, and the head of Lucy Software Ibérica, Juan Alberto Alonso.
